About Us

Engineering-Focused 3D Printing. Built for Real-World Use.

Penrose 3D Ltd is a UK-based engineering 3D printing company specialising in functional, production-ready components made from engineering and carbon fibre reinforced materials.

We exist to bridge the gap between prototype and production - delivering parts that don’t just look good, but fit first time, perform under load, and survive real operating conditions.

Everything we do is designed around practical engineering, consistency, and clear communication.

3D Printing

Our Story

Penrose 3D was founded with a simple goal:
to provide reliable, professional 3D printed parts for businesses and individuals that actually need to use them.

Too often, 3D printing is associated with visual models or hobby-grade parts. We saw a clear need for a service focused on engineering applications, where material choice, print setup, and part orientation genuinely matter.

From the start, our focus has been on:

  • Engineering-grade materials

  • Repeatable manufacturing processes

  • Honest, straightforward advice

  • UK-based production from start to finish

That mindset continues to shape every project we take on today.

How We Work

We believe the best results come from understanding the application, not just the CAD file.

Every project begins by asking the right questions:

  • How will the part be used?

  • What loads or temperatures will it see?

  • Is this a one-off, or will it need repeating?

From there, we help guide:

  • Material selection

  • Print orientation

  • Strength vs weight trade-offs

  • Design considerations for threaded inserts or assembly

Whether you’re refining a prototype or setting up a repeat batch run, we adapt to your workflow and priorities.

Our Journey

Concept → Capability → Confidence

  • Founded in the UK with a focus on functional 3D printing

  • Expanded into carbon fibre reinforced materials for demanding applications

  • Supported customers across automotive, robotics, automation, logistics, and motorsport

  • Proud sponsors of the Birmingham City University Formula Student team, where we support manufacturing functional parts from carbon fibre reinforced nylon for their car

  • Continued investment in professional-grade equipment, materials, and processes

Each step has reinforced the same principle:
Make parts that work, and customers will come back.

What Sets Us Apart

We don’t aim to be the cheapest - we aim to be reliable.

Our customers choose Penrose 3D because we offer:

  • 🇬🇧 UK-based design, manufacturing & fulfilment

  • 🧪 Engineering-grade and carbon fibre reinforced materials

  • 🔁 Consistent, repeatable production for batch runs

  • 🛠️ Practical design-for-manufacture support

Inspired by Real Projects

If you’ve seen our LinkedIn or Instagram, you’ll know we share real parts for real applications - from jigs and fixtures to fleet tags, enclosures, motorsport components, and production tooling.

Every post reflects how we work:

  • Practical solutions

  • Clean, functional design

  • Materials chosen for a reason

  • Pride in UK manufacturing

We don’t post concepts - we post results.

More Than a Print Service

We see ourselves as a manufacturing partner, not just a supplier.

That means:

  • Advising when a design could be improved

  • Recommending a different material if it makes sense

  • Being upfront if a part isn’t suitable for 3D printing

  • Supporting repeat orders with consistent quality

Our long-term relationships matter more than short-term jobs.
