Engineering 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing in the UK

Precision. Performance. Print.

Functional prototypes and low-volume production components manufactured in engineering-grade polymers, from carbon fibre reinforced nylons to high-performance materials including PPS-CF.

From one-off development parts to repeatable batch manufacture, Penrose 3D provides UK-based additive manufacturing for demanding engineering applications.

Our Services

From early-stage prototypes to repeatable low-volume production, we support businesses with practical additive manufacturing solutions built around the requirements of the part & not simply the material or printer.

Prototyping & One-Off Parts

Functional prototypes and bespoke components for fit, form and performance testing, manufactured in materials suited to real engineering applications.

Low-Volume & Batch Manufacturing

Repeatable production of low-to-medium volume components without the cost and lead time of traditional tooling, ideal for specialist and evolving applications.

Engineering-Grade 3D Printing

Functional components manufactured in engineering and high-performance polymers including carbon fibre reinforced nylons, PA12, PETG-CF and PPS-CF.

Jigs, Fixtures & Production Aids

Custom manufacturing aids for assembly, positioning, inspection and production applications, designed for fast iteration and practical shop-floor use.

Advanced Engineering Materials

Material selection based on the demands of the application.

Penrose 3D works with engineering and high-performance polymers for applications where standard 3D printing materials may not be suitable.

From carbon fibre reinforced polymers for strength, stiffness and temperature resistance to specialist high-density materials, we help select the material around the mechanical, thermal and environmental requirements of the component.

PPS-CF

High-temperature performance

Carbon fibre reinforced PPS offering excellent dimensional stability, chemical resistance and thermal performance for demanding engineering environments.

PAHT-CF

Strong functional components

Carbon fibre reinforced high-temperature nylon combining strength, stiffness and durability for functional prototypes and production parts.

PA12

Tough engineering nylon

Durable nylon with good impact, wear and chemical resistance for functional components requiring toughness and dependable performance.

PETG-Tungsten 75%

High-density specialist material

Tungsten-filled PETG for applications where increased component mass, weighting or balancing is required within a compact geometry.

Engineering-Led Additive Manufacturing

Vision

Our aim is simple: to be a trusted UK manufacturing partner for functional 3D printed components.

We treat additive manufacturing like any other engineering process, selecting materials around real application requirements, designing for repeatability and making informed decisions about how each component should be produced.

That means practical advice, honest material choices, clear communication and parts manufactured to perform in their intended application.

No hype. No shortcuts. Just reliable engineering.

Engineering in Practice

Supporting BCU Racing — Formula Student

Penrose 3D supports BCU Racing, Birmingham City University’s Formula Student team, with the manufacture of functional components for real motorsport applications.

Our work has included carbon fibre reinforced parts produced for demanding areas of the vehicle, giving the team access to lightweight, application-focused additive manufacturing during development and testing.

Projects like this demonstrate where 3D printing delivers the most value: rapid iteration, material selection based on real operating requirements, and the ability to manufacture complex functional parts without traditional tooling.

From prototype to track - additive manufacturing applied to real engineering.
